The Giraffes are budding with excitement about flowers! We learned the different parts of flowers (roots, stem, leaves, and petals); we compared flowers by size; and we planted our own flowers for our moms!
Fun at Home
Teaching your child to plant and to take care of a plant can build responsibility (without major consequences if it goes badly). You can get a small flower pot for $1 at a home improvement store, Walmart, or Target along with a packet of flower seeds. We used African Daisies in our classroom because they will grow quickly and only need partial sunlight. Encourage your child to scoop the dirt and a couple of seeds in the flower pot. They will be responsible for watering it every day. Want to make it even more interactive? As the sprout begins to grow, measure it with them and draw its progress in a timeline. This Spring/Summer project can work on Science, Math, and Responsibility!

petals, circle middle, rectangle stems, diamond leaves, and
triangles for grass.

This week the students learned about Noah and the big flood during Jesus time! God wants us to remember him like Noah did. God loves us very much, and sends us rainbows to remind us of his promise to never flood the whole Earth again.
