Spring is in the air! During the last two weeks, the Giraffe class has been enjoying this time of growth as we celebrated Easter and started learning about the water cycle. We have been celebrating that Jesus died so that are sins could be washed away!

Check out some of our activities!

Week of March 21st:

Students painted sunsets and glued three crosses to their pictures to
remind them of Good Friday. Jesus died on the cross so that one
day we can go to Heaven!

Students worked on math skills as they matched egg halves.
One half had a number written on it and the other half had
dots. Students had to match the number with the correct
amount of dots.

We practiced cutting circles and squares! This is a difficult skill
for many students and may take awhile to master.
Do not be discouraged!

Students decorated paper Easter eggs by tracing lines.
I have noticed a lot of improvement in
tracing abilities this month!

 Students practiced identifying letter sounds
by match a letter with a picture of something that
starts with that letter.

Students started playing Dinosaurs together around
the classroom castle! They did a great job
of taking turns and listening to each other!

Students colored pretend eggs to use for the Easter party!

Easter Party!
Students balanced the eggs they decorated on spoons and tried to carry them across the room.

Students explored the properties of large eggs made of ice!
They discovered colorful beads inside!

We had a sink or float station at the party!
Students were given Easter eggs and rocks.
We noticed that empty eggs floated on top of
the water and full eggs sunk to the bottom of the tub.

Our very own Easter bunnies!

Week of March 28th:

Students matched flowers with pictures to
leaves with letters focusing on the letter sounds.

Students made umbrella art to help them remember what
they have learned about rain.

We made it rain in a cup!
We filled a glass with water, topped it with a
couple of squirts of squirts of shaving cream (clouds),
and then slowly poured blue water on
top of the clouds!
When the clouds got heavy
the rain fell down into the clear water.

We made our own books about
counting rain drops!

 We traced shapes with noodles!
We traced circles, rectangles, pentagons,
hexagons, and octagons!

Students worked together to figure out which
picture belongs with foam letters F - J. The letters were
hidden inside of Easter eggs.

Talking around the table...

In Jesus time we have been learning about how
Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday to
take away our sins. On Easter, he came back!
He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

See you next time!
