The class has loved learning about dinosaurs! They did a great job analyzing the sizes of the dinosaurs and what made the different species unique. The students are becoming more verbal when I ask them to explain their "yes" or "no" answer with an explanation. We really worked on using full sentences this week to talk about the dinosaurs. You may notice there are fewer dinosaur pictures this week, and that is because I was so excited about the discussions the students were having during the activities, I forgot to take pictures!

Check out some of our activities!

Students enjoyed being archaeologists and
digging for dinosaur bones!

Students were given the opportunity to free paint
their own dinosaur foot. We put all of the
dinosaur feet together in the hallway to make
dinosaur tracks!

We love seeing students check out books
on their own!

A preschool family donated a baby doll
crib! It has made a great addition to our
classroom!

The students love holding baby dolls! This has been
a great outlet for talking about emotions. Students
explore different feelings by pretending that their
baby is feeling sad, mad, hungry, happy, and excited.
I have noticed that the students show a lot of
gentleness with the dolls, and take the role of
"mommy" and "daddy" seriously.

At recess, many of the students transformed
into dinosaurs and chased their friends
around the playground!

Tangrams can be tricky, but they are great way for students
to work on shapes and puzzles in a less guided format!

The students love coloring with markers!
We colored a lot of dinosaur pictures!
Some students are exploring how to stay inside
the lines, other students are thinking about how
to make different objects in their picture different
colors, and some students are still working on
gross motor control. All of these stages of writing
are a part of the two and three year old age group!

After nap, I caught these two friends working
together to get socks and shoes on!
I love when friends work together!

Tracing lowercase letters with small paper
and glue!

Tracing letters and words on whiteboards!
When we trace them with paintbrushes
the ink disappears! Cool!

Some students are working on writing their name!
All of the students know at least one letter in their
name by now. Many of the students can
spell their names without help! Encourage
your child to try and write down some of the
letters in their name. Celebrate the success and
offer assistance when there are any signs of frustration.

See you next time!

The class has been stomping with anticipation to learn about Dinosaurs and the time has finally come! The students have been comparing the sizes of dinosaurs, as well as the different features they have on their body to keep them safe.

Check out some of the activities we did this week!

Counting Dinosaur Eggs!

The students looked for matching dinosaurs

We became Archaeologists on a dig for dinosaur bones!

Students traced letters using small scraps of paper.

Students traced a path to the dinosaurs - working on prewriting skills!

This week during Jesus time we learned
about the battle of Jericho! God helped the
Isrealites win the battle. They walked around
the city for seven days. On the seventh day,
they blew their trumpets and
the walls came tumblin' down!
With God's help - anything is possible.

This last week, the kids pedaled their way through learning as they studied Bike safety! We learned four big safety rules:
1. Always wear a helmet to protect your head
2. Ride on the sidewalk
3. Look out for cars!
4. Always ask an adult if it is okay to ride - and make sure they know where you are going

Fun at Home
We had so much fun at the Trike-a-thon on Saturday! It is easy to recreate some of the ideas at home and work on some gross motor skills!

Create your own race track!
Use chalk and encourage your child to help draw lines and arrows to make a race track for them to ride their bike!

Bike wash!
Spray bottles are a great way to strengthen hand muscles! Encourage your child to spray their bike down with water and wipe it off with a rag.

Refreshment stand!
Learning to pour water is a skill that requires hand-eye coordination. Try giving them a small pitcher or plastic bottle of water and they can pour it into other cups for family and friends! This will definitely get messy the first few times they try - but that is part of the fun!

Watch them ride!

Check out some of the activities we did this week!

We worked on our cutting skills by cutting out bike paths!
The students are really showing improvement with technique and
hand-eye coordination.

Bike sequencing puzzle!
Students had to line up the numbers 1 - 10
to turn their puzzle into bicycle.

Students had to find and stamp the letters K,k, and L,l

Students practiced matching pictures to make bicycle patterns!

We love seeing students take turns with the
computer! Sometimes it is hard to
wait for our turn for toys and games,
but when we share - we all have fun!

Whoa! Ms. Tremmel got sneaky and
hid bumpy letters behind the paper!
When the students rubbed their crayon
across the paper, the letters "popped"
out of the paper!

We painted the number nine! We love opportunities to free-paint.

Group project! All of the students worked together to create a
paper mosaic bike! It turned out really cool!
Can you find the 2 circles and 2 triangles in the bike?

This week we learned how Jesus ascended into
Heaven and one day he will come back again.
I love when the students want to look through
the bible on their own! These three students wanted
to get a closer look of Jesus rising through the
clouds.

See you next week!
